MEETINGS ARE HELD IN THE GUARDIAN’S ROOM OF THE RIPON WORKHOUSE MUSEUM IN ALL HALLOWGATE. MEETINGS COMMENCE AT 7-30 P.M.
THE GUARDIAN’S ROOM IS ON THE FIRST FLOOR. A LIFT AND TOILETS ARE AVAILABLE.

An audio-visual presentation on this historic North- eastern landmark.
WEDNESDAY MAY 12TH. “THE NOVELS OF AGATHA CHRISTIE. ROBERT BERNARD.
A return visit from this knowledgeable speaker. An author in his own right.
WEDNESDAY JUNE 9TH. A CONDUCTED TOUR OF THE WORKHOUSE AND ITS GARDEN.
An opportunity to visit the Ripon Workhouse Museum since its renovation works, together with an explanation of its historic garden and an opportunity to visit the part of the premises occupied by the Ripon Local Studies Research Centre. Light refreshments will be available. An invitation has been extended to members of Ripon Civic Society to join us.
WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 8TH. “IDEAS FOR NONCONFORMIST RESEARCH WITH REFERENCE TO NIDDERDALE” JACKIE DEPELLE.
A branch of research that is not always easy to carry out and often causes problems. The speaker is the Chairman of the Yorkshire Family History Societies Committee.
WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 13TH. “THE ART OF HUBERT VON HERKOMER.” RICHARD TINKER.
An appropriate venue for a talk on this English painter and illustrator, printmaker, stage designer, early film maker, writer and teacher. He painted a number of pictures that revealed his sympathy for the poor and disadvantaged, including “Eventide: A scene in the Westminster Union,” “Hard Times,” and “The Last Muster.”
WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 10TH. “THE FOREST OF KNARESBOROUGH.” DAVID G. HUNT.
A talk on this historic local area by an eminent local archaeologist.
