The Society Library

Members may consult the Society's library and have access to a wide range of books, microfiche and the internet between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday at:

Ripon Local Studies Research Centre
75 Allhallowgate
Ripon
HG4 1LE

Telephone: 01765 601734

The Centre is staffed by volunteers and it is advisable to telephone beforehand to make sure that it will be open and available on the dates you intend to visit, particularly if travelling from a distance.

The Centre is happy to carry out research, and does not ask for payment for the research required. However, although the work is carried out by volunteers, the Centre does need to cover the upkeep of its premises and suggests a donation of £10.00 per hour, with the first half hour being free. On longer periods of research it is preferable to come to an agreement on cost, and it would be helpful to know the upper limit that would be acceptable to an enquirer.

Publications

The Society publishes monographs, booklets, microfiche and CD-ROMs of interest to local and family historians. Visit our publication page for a list of the publications available.
