Ripon Community Archaeology Project

A Mystery StructureIf you are interested in local archaeology, the Ripon Community Archaeology Project meets at Copt Hewick Village Hall every Friday morning from 9-30 a.m. and it welcomes new members.Archaeological discoveries help us understand the history of the City. One of the most recent digs, prior to new development, uncovered this fascinating structure (above).Following much debate, the consensus was that it might be a lime kiln used during an early restoration of the Cathedral. However, do you know differently?
