Ripon Market Place: The evolution of the centre of a historic Yorkshire market town.

This book edited by Mike Younge, first published in 2001, sold out very quickly and has been out of print. It traces the development of the market place over eight centuries and commemorates its importance to the social and economic life of the city.

It contains a wealth of information about individual properties and the families who owned and occupied them, particularly from the 17th Century onwards. It has now been re-issued in CD-ROM form for Windows 98/200/XP.


Masham Peculier Court: An indexed Calender of Wills and Administrations.

Previously published in booklet form in two volumes (the Calender and Index being separate), an indexed Calender of Will and Administrations of Masham Peculier is now available on CD-ROM.

Masham Peculier consisted of two Parishes: Masham in the North Riding and Kirkby Malzeard in the West Riding. The earliest record is 1548 and the latest 1858. Compatible with Windows 98/2000/XP.

The Parish of Ripon Chapelries.

The CD Rom includes explanatory notes, the registers for each church, and a cumlative alphabetical name index. £6-00 plus - £1-00 postage £2-00 overseas.

The original parish of Ripon spread over a large geographical area, and over time daughter churches were built and created as parishes in their own right. Early records for these parishes were in the Ripon registers, but records were kept separately from 1747 for Winksley and at various dates in the 19th century for Sawley; Bishop Thornton; Aldfield; Bishop Monkton; Markington; Skelton-on-Ure; Sharow; North Stainley, and Ripon Holy Trinity.Some records for Ripon Workhouse are also included.


Kirby Malzeard Area Registers.


The CD Rom includes explanatory notes, the registers for each church, and a cumlative alphabetical name index. £7-50 - £1-00 postage £2-00 overseas.


As with the case of Ripon, the ancient parish of Kirby Malzeard had new churches to serve outlying villages, and from the 19th century separate records were kept. As well as Kirby Malzeard itself, records included are those for Dallowgill, Grewelthorpe and Mickley; also included are the Masham Marriage Bonds for 1760 to 1876.
